North Hertfordshire District Council has launched a procurement process for a replacement Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) call handling platform to support the future of Herts Careline. The new system will replace the current platform, which is approaching end of life, and will provide a modern, secure and resilient solution capable of supporting both existing analogue alarm traffic and the ongoing transition to digital telecare technologies.
The ARC is a critical part of Herts Careline’s infrastructure, providing 24/7 monitoring and response services for vulnerable residents and partner organisations across Hertfordshire.
The procurement is being delivered through a two-stage tender process, with an estimated contract value of £2 million (excluding VAT). The successful supplier will provide the platform and associated support services for an initial five-year term from March 2027, with options to extend up to a maximum of ten years.
This investment marks an important step in ensuring Herts Careline continues to deliver reliable, future-ready telecare services and supports the national transition from analogue to digital technology.
