One night, the Access TEC Home Hub in Mr. Evans’ hallway detected movement at an hour when he would typically be asleep, followed by a long period of inactivity. The system recognised this as a potential risk factor and triggered an alert. Mr. Evans’ wristband registered an unusual heartrate sent an emergency signal. This alert, routed through Access Technology Enabled Care (TEC) immediately reached his care team.
Due to the integration with Access Care Planning, the care team was immediately provided with Mr. Evans’ recent observations and activities, including a history of nighttime dizziness likely caused by his medication. Knowing this, the care team made informed decisions and notified the Mr. Evans’ GP.
This seamless communication between the Access TEC Home Hub, Mr. Evans’ wristband and Access Care Planning provided a complete care picture whilst also ensuring a fast response, preventing further complications.
This is one of the many examples of how technology, when integrated with a wider care system, can prevent harm and secure better outcomes.
Access TEC integrates seamlessly with Access Care Planning to provide a unified and intelligent approach to care delivery to make it proactive, but most importantly, person-centred. This means that all data gathered from TEC devices such as sensors, alert systems or wearables is automatically fed into our Care Planning system.
In just a matter of days, Access TEC learns the individual’s behaviour and routines using adaptive intelligence, identifying anomalies and irregular patterns and behaviours that could indicate emerging risks or a change in care needs.
A care worker arrives for her morning visit to Mr. Evans, a 75-year-old living independently with support. Using the Access Care Planning app, she reviews recent data from his Access TEC devices. The motion sensors have shown reduced activity in his usual areas, and she notices he seems more withdrawn and with a lower appetite.
Using these insights, she speaks with Mr. Evans and records observations in the app, flagging concerns for her team. The app’s smart system suggests the changes may signal illness and recommends a wellbeing check and contacting his GP.
The app also keeps families informed by providing access to care plans and updates, helping build trust and transparency in care.
Access TEC uses discreet tools like motion sensors and GPS-enabled wearables to monitor wellbeing without invading privacy. It focuses on collecting only essential data, learning personal routines, and spotting irregularities while preserving dignity and autonomy.
Our customer, Premier Community, is a home care provider serving Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. They have incorporated Access Assure, powered by Access TEC’s assistive technology, into their service. This integration supports them with emergency response systems, remote health monitoring and activity tracking, all via a user-friendly interface.
This resulted into a more proactive, preventative and personalised care model that better supports the clients’ physical and mental wellbeing.
In the words of Dan Isterling, Managing Director of Premier Community:
“At Premier Community, our mission has always been to provide exceptional care that enhances the lives of our clients and their families.
As we continue to uphold this commitment, we recognise that the care landscape is evolving. We are excited to announce our strategic initiative to integrate assistive technology alongside our traditional home care services to remain at the forefront of this change.”
The integration of Access Care Planning with TEC is transforming care delivery by giving carers real-time, holistic insights into a person’s wellbeing and care plan.
Its strength lies in flexibility and interoperability, feeding data from various systems into one hub— The Access HomeHub. And with integration capabilities across systems like Mosaic and Access Care Planning, ensuring smooth data flow from assessment to care delivery.
TEC systems use a population health approach, it helps identify at-risk groups and offer tailored support. With open API architecture, it also supports third-party alarms, creating a future-proof, person-centred model that adapts to users’ evolving needs.
Our digital telecare solutions are certified by the TEC Quality, demonstrating compliance with outcome-based standards by the TSA— the UK’s industry and advisory body for Technology Enabled Care. As the only UKAS-accredited certification scheme for technology-enabled care in the UK, this recognition confirms that our solutions meet the 10 Common Standards which are built around quality, safety, innovation and continuous improvement.
Additionally, this certification gives commissioners and care providers the confidence that Access TEC integration delivers measurable outcomes whilst upholding the highest safety and quality.
For TEC providers exploring integrated care planning solutions, the starting point should always be a clear focus on outcomes. Whether your goal is to cut emergency admissions, boost care quality scores or prove the value of prevention for commissioners, integration must be purpose-built to meet those specific objectives.
With over 25 years of experience and support for more than 10,000 care settings, we offer integration solutions grounded in a practical understanding of everyday challenges when it comes to care delivery.
By prioritising integration today, providers can deliver better outcomes for individuals while building sustainable, future-ready services within the post 2027 digital landscape.
Here at The Access Group, we are committed to enabling this shift, blending advanced technology with a deep knowledge of care is truly delivered. The future of TEC isn’t about individual smart devices, but about building connected ecosystems that support dignity, independence and safety for everyone.
