Nationally, ambulance services receive around 2,600 calls every day from telecare teams. It’s estimated that if 1% of calls were more appropriately directed to a different pathway it would cut ambulance call outs by 900 per day. This would not only take the pressure off stretched emergency services, but also mean vulnerable people receive help swiftly – potentially preventing the need for more intensive support.
