A £22 million competition has been launched to help set up five “Digital Innovation Hubs” connecting regional healthcare data with genetic and biomedical information across the country.
Part of a wider £37.5 million funding programme launched last year, the innovation hubs will give UK scientists and clinicians access to high-quality health data from the NHS, universities and social care in a bid to find faster cures for disease and deliver more efficient clinical trials
More than £2 million is to be invested into providing urgent mental health support for those in crisis across north Wales.
The money, which is part of a larger £11 million pot announced by the Welsh Government, aims to transform the way health and social care services across the region.
The Tech for Good programme will run for three years until 2021 and will offer funding for projects that use technology to deliver better services. It will also offer support form experts and advisers.
Grants of up to £48,000 are available over a nine-month period.
