TSA’s Business Plan 2021-22: The New Roadmap for Technology Enabled Care, 27 January

There has never been a more important time for technology enabled care and the landscape is changing before our eyes. Our rapid COVID-19 response and learnings from our Outreach Programme has helped us shape and rethink our ambitions for the TEC sector over and above what we could ever have imagined pre-pandemic. And, buoyed by our ongoing commission work with the Department of Health and Social Care, it has helped us shape the direction and strategy of the 2-year business plan for TSA and the sector.

Hear about our planned programme of deliverables and services that will transform TEC services but also about the key partnerships and expansion of our engagement activities both of which will be key to the success of the business plan, with particular focus on greater collaboration with Housing, Health and Social Care.

We’ll be giving you a comprehensive update on our refreshed Special Interest Groups Programme with focus on some brand new SIG groups developed directly out of Covid response and the impending Digital Shift. The development work that comes out of these groups feeds directly into the standards and systems that will transform how TEC is viewed and integrated over the coming years, and your chance to be directly involved in them can be heard on the webinar.

From Stabilisation to Innovation: Future Proofing TEC across Health, Housing & Social Care - 24th November

The pandemic has highlighted the crucial role that digital technology can have in connecting and protecting people, at a time when some individuals and communities have felt at their most isolated and lonely. As a result, the future of care is already beginning to emerge in response to the current health and care crisis with initiatives such as the Nightingale care home, developed to meet the demands for extra capacity and care of the vulnerable not yet ready to return to the community. Whilst in the community, service users rely on the various TEC systems to call for help when needed and are a link to the outside world. However, we have seen a reluctance to allow maintainers to have access properties to conduct vital maintenance, to ensure call systems work as intended when needed and may also need to be upgraded to cater for digital communication.

The sectors including social housing, and care that support these communities, have created new, safe methods of working and have demonstrated innovation over the past few months in how technology can be used to deliver a proactive and preventative care approach - recognising the full scale of the benefits to different individuals in meeting their care and support needs.

During and Beyond the Pandemic: A New Dawn for Technology in Care

The pandemic has clearly demonstrated the vital role that technology can play in supporting the population’s health and social care needs across our communities, and how the emergency has accelerated its adoption. This fast uptake of digital solutions has not been without challenges, but there are some excellent examples of good practice with the sector.
The webinar will also focus on how technology services can be utilised to rebuild and strengthen social care post-pandemic, both as a supportive mechanism for the social care workforce and as a key element in service innovation, integration and transformation for better outcomes for people who are in need of care and support, including their families and carers.

Looking Beyond Covid19: Making a New Future for TEC

The impact of Covid-19 on technology enabled care services and the response of the sector has been exceptional and swift, proving pivotal to the successful support of vulnerable and shielded populations. The pandemic triggered TEC Services Association (TSA) to begin a sustained and robust outreach programme to its membership and the wider TEC sector with support, guidance and feedback mechanisms around workforce, data, infrastructure and innovations in digital solutions.

This webinar will share the insights and findings of this programme, and reveal what is in the pipeline over the next month around our strategic partnership work with Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHSX, demonstrating how both can influence our future development as a sector and embed further into the health and social care systems.

Covid-19 Pandemic Escalation - Guidance for Monitoring and Responder Services

Webinar Summary:
The COVID-19 Pandemic has raised many new challenges for Monitoring, Installation and Responder Services. Many organisations have responded quickly to adapt their original business continuity plans and to implement a wide range of operational changes, to enable the critical services to continue and to provide support to over 1.7 million Service Users.

Our members have indicated that after an initial ‘spike’ in call volumes, this has now showed a slow-down. However, it is anticipated that the lock down may continue for some time and there is a possibility that when the lock down is eased, the rate of infection may increase once again. Should there be another ‘peak’ in the number of infections being reported, it may be necessary to further increase capacity and capability within TEC Services to respond. Whilst most services have risen to the challenge, how sustainable is this for an extended period?
