SIG015- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)

Guidance document for the TEC and Community Equipment Sector.

Objective

The aim of this Special Interest Group (SIG 15) is to develop guidance for Technology Enabled Care (TEC) services and Community Equipment to produce a guidance document and implement minimum IPC standards within QSF.

The Group will research existing guidance and align with lessons learnt in Covid 19.

Method of Approach

To review existing British and European standards and other documentation in the public domain and revise in line with TEC and ES requirements.

The group will include representatives from TEC and ES along with multi-site organisations and local services with clinical experience.

This approach will be a targeted task and finish group with focused enthusiastic members.

Objectives

The key objectives are:

  • A minimum standard and consistent approach to ES decontamination and IPC.
  • To develop Industry best practice.
  • To develop Industry specific guidance and implement requirements within the QSF.
  • Revise the QSF to include the use of the toolkit.
  • Create a methodology for measuring benefit for longer term analysis

Targeted to implement in October 2022
